Wiki for Wall Street

Bull Using social media to gather and study stock information is a growing trend on Wall Street. Just check out Wikinvest, a free website that allows users to update investment news that has been gathered from all different forms of online media. In other news, no word yet on that crop report for frozen concentrated orange juice (FCOJ).

NBA Split Screens

Mcgrady_rip_300_080410 I can't help it,  I like the NBA Playoffs commercials. Give me that creepy split screen and vocal distortion. This campaign is on the heels of the regular season's "Where ____ Happens" campaign, which is Where this cool idea for a commercial Happened.

NFL Teams Hit Up Social Media

Usethis I noticed some NFL team's utilizing social media really well during this past weekend's NFL Draft. The Giants allot an entire section of their site to hosting a fan gaming community. In Atlanta, FalconsLife.com is full of community page blogs and links to a tailgating tip board, the OchoCinco Lounge, and commentary from someone named Mookie Dunkelman. Seriously. And if you can get the Kansas City Chiefs' splash page video to load, you have the option to embed and share with other Chiefs Fans (ha, Chiefs Fans).

Hillary took Pennsylvania...

... but Barack still dominates the social networks.

Get Your Kicks

Adidas Sneaker heads are an ever growing, demanding and apparently 'visionary' market. With every kid looking like they walked out of a Tokyo boutique, it's tough for a shoemaker to cut through nowadays. Here are two that did it well:

Adidas' "The Left-Right Project" cut through to graf artists, sneaker heads, people hanging around LA, and even stiffs like me.

Over in England, Asics' line of Onituska Tiger sneakers will be sold in a "trainer vending machine" on Carnaby Street through today. So hurry and hop a flight to London.

As for me, I'm all about taking the horrid all-over print of last year to my feets.

Tracking the Highline

Highline I really do love the Highline. The 22-block expanse that formerly served New York's bustling waterfront industry will soon be an amazing elevated park that runs right by the Renegade offices.

I saw a cool promotion for the park going on in Chelsea earlier today. 8th Graders from the Lab School are wearing chalk shoes and tracking all the paths leading to and around the Highline. The exhibition covering this promotion will be hosted at the Leo Kesting Gallery from May 15-21. I will be there.

The Big Ballet

While Andre 3000 is off making cameos and his own line of clothing, Outkast's other half, Big Boi, debuted his ballet, "Big," last night at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta. Leave it to an ATLien...

Creative Music Videos (Not So Creative Blog Post Title)

Hot Chip's new video for "One Pure Thought" is as much fun to watch as it is to listen to.

One Pure Thought

ALSO, be sure to check out Arcade Fire's video for "Black Mirror" as talked about on TheDrewBlog!

There's a Robot in my Soup

Nuremberg Who needs classy waiters or Ratatouille when you can order from a touch screen and get your hot steamy dish from an automated rail system? Not me, anymore.
